You are still smoking – WHY?

31 March 2008

So you still think Smoking is cool?

Its 2008 how could anyone possibly think that smoking is ok anymore? The tobacco companies have been sued and lost, yet according to the American Lung Association  “Each day, 4,000 children under 18 years of age smoke their first cigarette. Almost 1,100 of them will become regular smokers. …” So what’s it going to take to make people quit, or better yet to stop people picking up that first cigarette in the first place?  Maybe it would help to see what they are actually smoking.  I was mistakenly under the impression that a cigarette contained tobacco plants all shredded up and rolled into a convenient package, not so it seems. A complete list of chemicals in a cigarette is listed below thanks to Quit Smoking Support.com.  On their website they report:  “There are more than 4,000 ingredients in a cigarette other than tobacco. Common additives include yeast, wine, caffeine, beeswax and chocolate. Here are some other ingredients:

Do people really understand or realize they are smoking things like cadmium, lead, and arsenic?

When I read this list, the first thing that comes to my mind is – Why? Why would anyone smoke this?  How do the tobacco companies get away with selling this product? How is this even legal?  I am appalled that in 2008, people not only choose to pull this noxious smoke into their lungs, they actually pay a premium to do so, then we wonder why people get cancer, it just blows my mind.  To make it even worse, quitsmokingsupport.com reports that: “… .additional toxicants are manufactured during the smoking process by the chemical reactions occurring in the glowing tip of the cigarette. The number is staggering: more than 4,000 hazardous compounds are present in the smoke that smokers draw into their lungs and which escapes into the environment between puffs.”  Yes, that’s right FOUR THOUSAND.  So if this doesn’t make you put your cigarette out and throw away any packets you might have, I am not sure what will.

If you are looking to stop smoking, speak to Fontana Family Chiropractic to help you get started on your journey.

Relief from Sinus Problems? Get help from your Chiropractor and the Neti Pot.

28 March 2008

Our son has had a rough time over the past couple of years, and one of his multiple problems is seasonal allergies. Since we relocated to South Carolina my son has battled allergies which continued past spring, into summer, through fall, beyond Christmas and were still there the following spring.  We met with several Doctor’s and more than one ENT, all to no avail.  Over the course of the year we were prescribed several prescription drugs that didn’t seem to even help drain his sinuses, let alone halt the allergies.  His little cheeks were often red and puffy, and very sore.  My sister-in-law had suggested we try light massage to help his sinuses drain but often his face was too painful to touch, let alone massage.  The major problem came at night as he lay down to sleep, his nose would close almost completely to the point where listening to him try to breathe almost made us wince.  It wasn’t any fun at all, especially not for him.
So today while I was making the rounds of news organizations, I clicked on an article at the New York Times that caught my eye.  The headline in the  (03.27.08) online edition, read: “WASHINGTON (AP) — The Food and Drug Administration said Thursday it is investigating a possible link between Merck’s best-selling Singulair and suicide. FDA said it is reviewing a handful of reports involving mood changes, suicidal behavior and suicide in patients who have taken the popular allergy and asthma drug.”

What? Suicidal behavior? Mood changes?  Scary side effects to say the least. So what is an allergy plagued person to do?  One of the medications we had used to treat his sinus problems and allergies was Singulair (along with Zyrtec and Clariten).  He was, of course, prescribed the pediatric version, but at a double dose to combat his tough problem.  At the time it was very hard mentally to keep giving him the drugs but we were at a loss as to what else to do. We genuinely thought we had tried everything else first, including a humidifier, excessive vacuuming, Echinacea, and various other different remedies specific to allergies and sinus problems that we purchased at the health food store, none of which had made any difference to his sinuses.

The quote, in the article from a Merck spokesman would almost be funny if it wasn’t so sad and scary, the quote reads “”We have no indication that anything about the mechanism of Singulair is consistent with these events,” said George Philip, director of research and product development. ”But because suicide is a life-threatening event we thought it was important to provide this information in the product label.”” A life threatening event! That is somewhat of an understatement surely?
For those who are interested here is a link to the FDA’s write up of Singulair.

Well there may be a better way. We went to our local chiropractor who told us the following: Chiropractic adjustments to the neck and base of the skull help alleviate the signs and symptoms associated with sinus blockage. The pain comes from blocked sinuses clogged with mucus from bacterial and viral growth.  Our son was in pain, from his sinus pressure, he had frequent nose bleeds, but he could never get to the runny nose part of the process, he always remined bunged up, he would scratch and rub at his itchy eyes, he also complained of headaches, ear aches, and occasional sore throats which also caused excessive throat clearing. The chiropractor took us through the process and explained that when you release the upper neck bones and take the pressure off the nerves that innervate the head and sinuses, the head and neck are able to start the process of healing themselves. Our chiropractor also suggested we purchase a Neti Pot. The guy at our local health food store who knows our family well, was sceptical as I purchased it, convinced that there was no way I could get my four year old to use this. Well we showed him didn’t we? The first time he used it we sat him in the tub and showed him how it worked, and lo and behold the kid is a natural.  He does it very well by himself and then just a few weeks ago, he proudly showed our neighbor’s three year old daughter how it worked; after our success they decided to try the pot for the same reasons we had.  In just three short days, using a combination of chiropractic care and the Neti Pot, my son’s sinuses had quieted down. After over a year, he can breathe properly again.  It’s been about 3 months now and he uses the pot a few times a week, and so far so good, no more sinus infections, no more allergies, even his one colds only last a day.  So if you are plagued by allergies, sinus problems or even just a cold, talk to your chiropractor and use the Neti Pot in conjunction with your regular adjustments, who knows it may help keep you off medication too.

Q: What is a Neti Pot?  A: Neti PotTM The original…since 1972
The Neti PotTM naturally cleanses, refreshes, and protects the nasal passages, one of our body’s first lines of defense against illness. Recommended today by doctors and pharmacists worldwide, the Neti PotTM has been used for thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine to alleviate sinus and allergy problems. The Himalayan Institute introduced the Neti PotTM over 35 years ago, and we currently offer a full line of high quality products to support a complete sinus cleansing system.  Video

What’s in your plastic? Phthalates and our health.

24 March 2008

The Phthalate Information Center has on their website.” No governmental review has found any phthalate unsafe as used in products for the general public.” And this from their question and answer section, “Q. Are they safe? A. Regulatory agencies and independent authorities have found phthalates to be safe as used in vinyl products and personal care products. There is no reliable evidence that any phthalate has ever caused any harm to any human in their fifty-year history of use. Phthalates are one of the most thoroughly tested families of compounds in use today. An immense amount of information on their safety profiles is available to users…”

So why the controversy? Why do see headlines that say “Toxic levels of phlalate’s found in toys and other plastic goods”? Is there a threat to our health and our children’s health from these by-products of plastics?  This compound is found in flame retardant clothing, in furniture, in bedding, and toys, to mention just a few items.  Wikipedia lists phlalate’s as: … are a group of chemical compounds that are mainly used as plasticizers (substances added to plastics to increase their flexibility). They are chiefly used to turn polyvinyl chloride from a hard plastic into a flexible plastic.  Legal status: At least some phthalates are restricted in the European Union, and in the U.S. state of California (for children’s toys) starting in 2009. … The use of some phthalates is restricted in the European Union for use in children’s toys. DEHP, BBP, and DBP are restricted for all toys; DINP, DIDP, and DNOP are restricted only in toys that can be taken into the mouth. There are no other specific restrictions in the European Union, and the phthalates mentioned are allowed in any concentration in other products. Other phthalates are not restricted, not in toys or any other kind of product. The use of DEHP, BBP, and DBP in household products will usually be kept low as these are reproductive toxicants.”

So why does the information at Wikipedia somewhat contradict the information posted by the Phlalate Information council? And why is this chemical banned in certain forms in Europe and other parts of the world, but not in the US?

There is a great article on how to avoid overexposure to this chemical at Healthychild.org; where they suggest the following to use plastics safely: “Choose smart plastics and avoid putting them in the microwave (where they can release dangerous chemicals when heated) or the dishwasher (where they can degrade in the heat and excessive moisture).”
They also give advice on how to make safer choices, healthy child also suggests “… select safe plastics that use polyethylene (#1, #2, and #4) and polypropylene (#5), which require the use of less toxic additives. They also are non-chlorinated….” Check the bottom of the receptacle to see what number is listed, if you choose carefully you will help to keep the amount of these compounds leach into your body and the environment at a minimum. Healthy Child specifically suggest that “… avoiding products that use polycarbonate (#3) and polystyrene (#6), which often are found in baby bottles or sippy cups, is a smart idea.”  To see what other plastics might be affecting your health, read the following article regarding plastic water bottles. My family and I no longer use plastic in our kitchen, we use glass containers to store food, parchment paper to cook on and cover food with, and we each have a stainless steel drinking bottle that we fill from the filter installed recently on our kitchen faucet.  In this day and age it is almost impossible to get by without plastic in our lives, and it can be incredibly useful, however, when possible try to choose options that enable you to avoid the use of plastic, especially for products that come directly into contact with your skin on a regular basis i.e. mattress toppers, childrens vinyl cover sheets, treated clothing, or items that you will be using in your mouth, be especially aware around young children who tend to chew on everything. Try buying your child wooden or cloth toys, especially items made from organic cotton.  Pay particular attention to clothing, children’s pajama’s that are denoted as flame resistant or flame retardant are coated with plastic.

Avoiding this chemical can be tricky the compound is in so many household and consumer items.

According to  Our Stolen Future  “About a billion pounds per year are produced worldwide.” WOW, that just sounds like an awful lot of product, “one billion pounds worldwide”, and it’s almost certainly making a statement in your house. That article goes on “…Intentional uses of phthalates include softeners of plastics, oily substances in perfumes, additives to hairsprays, lubricants and wood finishers. That new car smell, which becomes especially pungent after the car has been sitting in the sun for a few hours, is partly the pungent odor of phthalates volatilizing from a hot plastic dashboard. In the evening’s cool they then condense out of the inside air of the car to form an oily coating on the inside of the windshield.” Yikes, I love that new car smell, or at least I did. Now the dilemma becomes – how can I possibly drive and hold my breath? I obviously can’t, so anyone inhaling that smell is also taking some amount down into the lungs and distributing it nicely through the body, great!  “… What are the health concerns? Much of the existing literature on phthalates’ toxicological properties focuses on the old approach to toxicology: high level exposure for cancer endpoints, and occupational exposure leading to adult infertility. In the past several years, however, particularly led by Earl Gray’s laboratory at the US Environmental Protection Agency, attention has turned to low-dose toxicity of phthalates during crucial windows of fetal development. As these studies have advanced, they have fundamentally changed our perception of potential health risks of phthalates. …” Yes, we are making our children toxic before they are even born.

Avoiding the toxins can be done, an article at PBS talks about the toy problem and where to find alternatives for your children.  Healthy Child Healthy World has this advice: “The phthalates found in toys are used as a plastic softener in polyvinyl chloride (also known as PVC or vinyl). Some PVC toys may be labeled with a V or #3 inside the chasing arrows triangle usually located on the bottom of a product. Most won’t be labeled at all. Generally, if a toy is a squishy plastic—like rubber duckies and baby dolls—or if it has highly flexible plastic as a component—like the clear pages in child “photo albums,” the clear plastic purses that some girl’s toys are sold in, or the plastic-like “fabric” used on some dolls—you should avoid it or call the manufacturer to ask if the product is made with PVC or phthalates.”  You can go to the HealthyChild.org website to purchase items without the toxin, or use their website to search for other vendors selling similar items.  Burts Bees is a very well known vendor who shuns the use of this chemical in personal care items, to read their statements on these and other chemical additions to products go to the Burts Bees Website.

And finally the good news, maybe “we” are starting to get it, the following article appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle. “Starting in January, California will become the first state to ban toys and other child-care products that contain more than trace amounts of phthalates. Phthalates have been linked to cancer, interference with the natural functioning of the hormone system and reproductive abnormalities…  also cited a 2006 Chronicle investigation in which 16 common children’s toys were sent to a Chicago lab for testing. Several were found to contain levels of phthalates at several times the upcoming limit. … major retailers that have taken phthalate-softened children’s products off their shelves include Wal-Mart, Kmart, Target and Toys “R” Us. The chemicals are outlawed in the European Union, Argentina, Japan, Fiji, Korea and Mexico.”

Become an informed consumer, start with these articles and keep Google-ing, I guarantee you will be horrified enough to at least if nothing else spend money on organic cotton pajama’s and sheet sets, personal care items, or on good old fashioned cloth or wooden toys, possibly even changing out your child’s drinking cups.  There are plenty of retailers available now who are selling items without the noxious substance we have been hearing about lately. Check with Dr. Paul and Dr. Susan, search the internet and speak with your local retailers before you make your next toxin free purchase.

Omega Fatty Acids and nutrition.

21 March 2008

New findings on nutrition and ADHD.

The largest clinical trial to date using Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids acids shows the benefits of these “good fats”.

Researchers at the University of South Australia say that parents found the fatty acids were as effective as stimulant drugs in treating symptoms of ADHD.

The study was comprised of 132 children, ages 7-12, who had symptoms of ADHD and were not taking medicine or omega-3 supplements. The product used is called “eye q,” produced by the English company Equazen. It is a blend of both omega-3 and omega-6 esntial fatty acids. This is the product that has been used in previous studies in British schools. (The Feingold Association has asked the company to fill out their product inquiry forms; if it is acceptable it will be added to [our - Feingold] supplement list)

Almost half of the children taking the EFA’s had significant reductions in the ADHD core symptoms of inattention,
hyperactivity and impulsivity. The double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial, led by Dr. Natalie Sinn, was published in the April issue of The Journal of Developmental and Behavioural Pediatrics.

Disruptive Behaviour Improves.

Earlier this year, another British school, The Eton Hall in Norwich, used “eye q” plus a healthy diet for 28 male students ages 10 through 16, who had behaviour and learning problems. Negative behaviours and tantrums were reduced by half when the supplements, and healthy diet were provided.

The evidence comprised from legitimate scientific studies (see below) just keeps mounting for the positive use of omega oils.  More and more people are taking the omega oils to not only prevent illness, but to maintain health and resolve problems associated with ADHD, speech developments, diabetes and ASD disorders, to name just a few.  For more information on the positive attributes of the Omega fish oils be sure to speak with either Dr. Paul or Dr. Susan who have both done due diligence on the positive nature of these oils.  Fontana Family Chiropractic in Evergreen, Colorado recommends Nordic Naturals  Pro EFA’s for quality and purity.

Walking and Weight Loss.

17 March 2008

Walk off the Weight.

Bad back? Tired all the time? No motivation to exercise but still trying to lose weight?  Start walking.  If you haven’t got a dog or a child, walking can still be fun.  Walking is one of the easiest ways to not only jump start your weight loss, but it will help you tone up and increase your stamina to boot.  A brisk walk, (a walk where you walk fast enough to be unable to carry on a conversation comfortably), will help you lose weight and stay fit and healthy.  Your heart will certainly thank you for it.

If you are one of those people who has never exercised, or have not exercised for a long period, remember to start slowly, work on adding increments of ten minutes at a time. For some great beginning walking tips try “What is walking”. At this website you will find information on “…Beyond the basics of how to walk and how much to walk, there are variations in walking faster, training for long distance walking events, nordic walking with fitness walking poles, and using a treadmill or a pedometer…” If you find it difficult to get started, start with a small, achievable goal. Aim for just three days a week and then gradually build that up to five or six days. If intentionally going out for a walk every day is just too much to commit to or you just don’t have time to walk every day, try to sneak the walking in any way you can. Parking further out from the grocery store so you have to walk further is a great tip, better yet try this trick at a strip mall shopping area, park far out in the parking lot, away from the stores, then go ahead walk around the shops rather than driving from one end of the parking lot to the other as you visit each merchant. There are often walker clubs formed to walk at the mall, or just around your neighborhood, check your local newspaper under local clubs and groups.  It might help to find like minded people to give you accountability for your walking health.  If you enjoy the alone time walking might offer, use your MP3 player to help you keep the pace up. You can find walking compilations or training pod casts on ITUNES, often you can download some for free.

So how do we know how much walking we need to be doing? When is walking going to help us achieve weight loss? How much should I walk to achieve a healthy heart? It seems the optimum number of steps per day is 10,000 – this is taken from the book “You on a Diet” by Dr. Roizen and Dr. Oz, (the champions for dieting smarter not harder).  They suggest buying a pedometer and aiming to add steps each day until you reach the 10,000 steps. The Walking Website  is another great place for information, but it also has a message forum so people can connect with other like minded people, this can help  to keep you motivated.  You can discuss your goals and get some great tips on how to get the most from your walking program.

Walking can provide gentle exercise, help you lose weight, build stamina and get healthy, and best of all you do not need a costly gym membership to get started.  Lace up your sneakers, put on your comfy pants, grab the dog, the kids or the IPOD and get moving.

Colorado has some of the best walking trails available. For more information on how to start a heart healthy walking and weight loss program talk to Dr. Paul or Dr. Susan about how best to reach your goals.

Ear infections and chiropractic care

14 March 2008

You know how it works, about 1:00am your child wakes up crying and pulling at their ears, they usually have a high temperature and are generally uncomfortable, have red ears and may be pulling on them, and you think to yourself, “another ear infection!”.  Otitis media, the medical term for an ear infection is prevalent amongst infants and young children.  Ear infections are apparently the most common cause of pediatric visits, and subsequent antibiotic use during the first two years of a child’s life. In the U.S., the cost of the medical and surgical treatment of otitis has been estimated to be between three and four billion dollars annually.  How many children do you know who are plagued with ear infections, whose parents are desperate to find some relief from the pain and problems associated with the infections? According to Dr.Sears  (the father of eight children as well as the author of over 30 books on childcare) there are 8 main symptoms of an ear infection:

1. Cold symptoms – keep in mind that ear infections are almost always preceded by a cold. Often a clear runny nose will turn yellow or green before an ear infection sets in.
2. Fussiness during the day or night
3. Complaining of ear pain or hearing loss
4. Night-waking more frequently
5. Unwillingness to lie flat
6. Fever – usually low grade (101º – 102º); may not have a fever.
7. Sudden increase in fussiness during a cold
8. Ear drainage – if you see blood or pus draining out of the ear, then it is probably an infection with a ruptured eardrum. DON’T WORRY! These almost always heal just fine, and once the eardrum ruptures the pain subsides.

So what can you do when your child gets yet another ear infection before his or her third birthday?  The first step could be speaking with your chiropractor. Your chiropractor has some techniques that can help improve symptoms of an existing infection or better yet, solutions to help to keep those  infections at bay.  Dr. Sears comments: I routinely prescribe chiropractic care to my pediatric patients with chronic ear problems. I am excited to see that osteopathic adjustments show benefit in a research study.

So what can your chiropractor do for your child’s ear infection?

According to an article posted on the American Chiropractic Association website ”…Chiropractic mobilizes drainage of the ear in children, and if they can continue to drain without a buildup of fluid and subsequent infection, they build up their own antibodies and recover more quickly,” explains Dr. Fallon. She’d like to see her pilot study used as a basis for larger-scale trials of chiropractic as a therapeutic modality for otitis media. Dr. Fallon uses primarily upper-cervical manipulation on children with otitis media, focusing particularly on the occiput, or back of the skull, and atlas, or the first vertebra in the neck. “Adjusting the occiput, in particular, will get the middle ear to drain. Depending on how chronic it’s been and on where they are in their cycle of antibiotics, children generally need to get through one bout of fluid and fight it off themselves.” That means, for the average child, between six and eight treatments. If a child’s case is acute, Dr. Fallon will check the ear every day, using a tympanogram to measure the ear and track the movement of the eardrum to make sure that it’s draining. “I’ll do adjustments every day or every other day for a couple of days if they’re acute, and then decrease frequency over time.”  To read the entire article go to ACA

Fluid build up from chronic ear infections can not only be the cause of a speech and language delay, but can also be the cause of behavioural problems from a child frustrated by constant pain and exasperated by the difficulty in communicating his or her needs. So the next time your child shows signs of the onset of an ear infection, or if this is a chronic condition your child suffers with, contact Dr. Paul or Dr. Susan at Fontana Chiropractic in Evergreen Colorado to discuss a way to manage this condition without the use or over-use of antibiotics.

Chiropractic care can help you with your sleep problems.

10 March 2008

The pain of no sleep can almost be a physical feeling.  Whether you suffer from occasional insomnia, frequent night waking or just an inability to fall asleep in time to give yourself enough recuperation for the following day, lack of sleep can make everything else in life so much harder.  An inability to concentrate, no energy to get through the day, feeling sleepy at work, or being just so tired that you grab a drive-through instead of making yourself a healthy evening meal, all can be detrimental to your health.

The effects of sleep deprivation for children is just as dire as it can be for an adult, however the symptoms will display differently; children who don’t sleep often have developmental delays, behavior problems, and a lack of focus.  So if this is you, or your child, what steps can you take to improve your sleep? First, schedule an appointment with your chiropractor.  Did you know that your chiropractor can be of great benefit to helping restore you optimum sleep cycle? The use of chiropractic care can be effective when trying to diagnose the reasons for no sleep. When chiropractive care is used in conjunction with other therapies, it can be more than effective in getting to the root of the problem and provide treatments that can lead to that all important night of restful sleep.

Traditional Chiropractic and Chiropractic Neurology “Sleep disorders are prevalent and often disabling, but most are diagnosable and effectively treatable using chiropractic applications,” says Frederick R. Carrick, DC, PhD, DACAN, DABCN, DACNB, FACCN, and president of the ACA Council on Neurology. “Sleep is one of the most important functions of the brain. The ability of the nervous system to regulate sensory input is considered a prerequisite to sleep. Specific areas of the brain change in their function to prevent transmission of sensory information that might keep us awake. Patients suffering from pain or other sensory conditions that contribute to a continual activation of the brain may have difficulty sleeping.” BNET

In addition to getting chiropractic adjustments, Dr. Paul and Dr. Susan might suggest some of the following remedies:

Thank you Dr. Paul and Dr. Susan for introducing this [DRX] therapy to Evergreen…

7 March 2008

M.E.P. of Evergreen Colorado 12.5.07

“For many years I have experienced very specific, sharp, low back pain resulting from an injury which occured over twenty years ago. Although I have maintained my strenght and mobility all these years with regular chiropractic treatments and massage therapy, I was still in constant pain especially while lying down, making it difficult to sleep.

I began the DRX 9000 treatments with Drs. Fontana and followed their specific instructions and treatment plan for my first 11 sessions then left for a week’s vacation. I was pleased to find that my pain was reduced significantly during my trip. Returning from the trip I was again in pain and resumed the DRX treaments and again after several more sessions began enjoying significant relief. I have had a total of 17 (or 18??) sessions and am very pleased that I have experienced approximately 65% to 75% overall improvement and am confident that my imporovement will be even greater by continuing the treatments. I am very excited and grateful to have found a treament that is effective in alleviating that nagging sharp pain and allowing me to heal by utilizing a non-invasive modality without the use of drugs or surgery. Thank you Dr. Paul and Dr. Susan for introducing this therapy to Evergreen. And thanks to you and your staff for making coming in for treatments a very pleasant experience.”

After about ten treatments, I began to experience some relief…

6 March 2008

Lisa S… (43) 12.21.07

When I first came to Fontana Chiropractic, I had gone through over a month of debilitating pain from sciatica. There had been no car accident, and I didn’t fall, but my L5 had apparently had enough. I could hardly walk, I could not sit or stand for any length of time and I could not sleep due to the pain. Chiropractic alone had given me a small amount of relief, but it became increasingly apparent that it was not bringing about the healing that I needed. I had begun to contemplate a future that included this pain as part of my daily life. I was discouraged.

At this time we began treatment on the DRX. I have to admit I was a mite fearful at first. I didn’t know if the machine would hurt or if it would help. Vut the pain had made me desperate. After about ten treatments, I began to experience some relief and douns that I could sleep better, and could even sit for awhile without increasing my pain level. After twnty treaments, most of the pain was gone. By twnety-two treatments, I am pain-free. I still have to be careful, and I know my body is not finished healing. But the relief from pain has changed my outlook on life and, thankfully, I will enjoy Christmas without pain, something I dared not hope for before this treatment.

My thanks to the Fontana’s and to Peggy for caring for me as if i’m one of the family.

…Dr Fontana and his great staff, they are the best in my book!!

5 March 2008

Lonnie R. M… (40) 3.3.03

I first came to Dr. Fontana’s office on Dec. 19th to seek advice on chronic back pain in my L-5 region. After my consult I decided to go with the DRX treatments. My back at first when I came in was painful every day and I had times when I could not move from shooting pain through this area for 1-5 secs. After starting the treaments and following Dr. Fontana’s advice within a few days the shooting pain decreased and lower back pain was not an all day and night ordeal. As i’m aware of my back problem today,  after all my treatments this no longer stops me from everyday activities and things I had given up. My pain level decreased from 7 – 2 on a scale of 1-10 (one being pain free) and I believe that if I continue with Dr. Fontana’s exercise program as well; I can minimize the pain for time to come. Lastly, his staff is one of the best and I couldn’t have asked for better care from them or Dr. Fontana. If you need help or care for this lower back pain I would without a doubt send you to Dr. Fontana and his great staff, they are the best in my book!!
